Halfway to being Down Under

I have lost the first 3 times that I have started this page only for the machine to gobble it up into some ether underworld where all such things go--all a bit above my head,
#
Anyway, so here we are in our really nice room in the Furama Riverfront Hotel min Singapore, after over 24 hours of travel via a change of planes in Dubai.

Now I am not sure of anyone else but for me, long flights like this are an opportunity to OD on movies -- ones that I am unlikely to see under normal circumstances until about 3 years time when they are on TV.

So having settled in ready to see whatever is new to the Emirates Airlines super duper Double decker airliner, when I find my TV is not working. So this is around the time that the paranoia kicks in to start thinking that this only happens to me.

Ok , so I am sure everyone is thinking  " yeah yeah, typical old fella thinking like that" - which if it were just that then I would accept that . But the when I get on their 777---380 and what should I find when I sat down-- apart from the close proximity of some very screaming babies and very young folk - but yes , you've guessed it , a TV that does not work.

Ok so to be fair, this very pretty Asian air hostess resent the TV back at command centre , wherever that was, but I had to reset "San Andreus" three times when it dropped out for no apparent reason.

Anyway -- its 29 degrees but humid so will get some rest first before venturing out---we plan to hit the Marina Bay Towers later.

Our room is really nice and looks like this with a view as well-- well lots of construction work to make me feel right at home.
Not seen the bathroom with the bath in all its glory "In" the room so to speak.

OK , so that is it for day one of the trip and so far so good , survived anyway.

Lots of thoughts from Lynda and e for all those poor folk back in the UK across the north with devastating floods but the  worlds weather has gone bonkers--- tornados in Dallas, Snow in Abilene, Paraguay is devastated by floods, Fires in Australia and Thailand is gradually losing Bangcok to rising water. Who said theres no climate change --- good luck to everyone.
Close.
