Sand in your Tea Sir

Somewhere that I have always wanted to come to is the Panhandle, the area along the Gulf of Mexico, around Pensacola, north Florida, up to the State of Alabama.

The name itself always reminds me of prospecting -- of searching for the elusive Gold , swilling around in the big Pan that looked a bit like a Wok.

It was in the 2nd world war that unscrupulous crooks packaged the white sand and sold it as sugar -- it really is that white.

When we left Tallahassee, Lynda got a great shot of the regional government building right in the middle of a whole series of high rise blocks

Was overtaken by this prison bus which appeared from nowhere and was in a mighty hurry.

When we arrived at Navarre , Pensecola, we took the bridge across to the that appears to have buildings built directly on white sand -- the whitest sand we have ever see, and there really are some amazing looking properties.

A good portion of the island is a nature reserve for breeding birds but quite amazing to walk over it with them scurrying around.
I really was pointing at something and despite the ridiculous picture below , this beach is a heaven for the likes of lynda collecting shells.

Ridiculously white -- very warm but a little breezy

I have no idea what pictures of your feet is all about -- I think Liz Coombes is the expert-- but Lynda has got pretty feet

There were clouds but these disappeared by the time we got back to the hotel and checked in

There were loads of these little homes for something -- small crabs maybe

These are a selection of the better looking house along this island--

Amazing how they turn this above into something resembling this one below and all with Wood -- but then they do have a lot of it here.

Last night we chilled out near the hotel -- we had KFC for tea, a bottle of Oyster Bay sauvignon blanc, a couple of mini Krispy Kremes and a few games of Kaluki and I got hammered by the expert.

This above is right outside our hotel room door so nice to stop and sit a while.

So finish with a selfie and look forward to breakfast and a chill-out round the pool today.
Happy Trails folks.
