Rocky Mountain Riders Part 2

After the first part of our adventure in Rainbow Trout Ranch we moved towards the end of the week in great anticipation of the riding , line dancing , Rodeo and the Talent show on our last night.

What we hadn't figured on was a rights of passage for all Wranglers when departing for the heady learning establishments of College in the USA, at the RTR, that they have to go into the pool, whether they want to or not, fully clothed and this young lady was not going to go in without a fight.

So while we were all having a Bar-b-q lunch this became the entertainment.

Fortunately they did remove her boots , her studded western belt and her mobile--- ( even though signal is crap)
So that's one down and a load to go----

As for us well , we continued to ride and fish and the soak up these amazing views---

The picture above is called Monkey Mountain and at a certain angle the top of the one in the background resembles a Monkey face but I just didn't get the shot from the proper position----

Lots of critters around---

Oh and the Critter below is called "Midnight" a real beautiful cat that  chases other critters away-- funny how black cats seem to know that we are black cat lovers---

The evenings consisted of more entertainment from everyone there with Line dancing -- although there did not appear any room for me to show off my silky skills but hey -- there were plenty of experts there anyway----

There was a lot of dosey doing, and a touch of the Texas 2 Step thrown in as well---

Final rides along the river

The weekly Rodeo was great , although I was disappointed that there was no Pony Express--- there has never been a better picture than that of  Jane Van Berkum flying around the Arena legs out wide , arms flailing and head down clutching the saddlebags to secure a win for the girl wranglers against the boys--- that used to be awesome but I understand David took a view that one day there would be a serious accident , maybe to both horse and human, but it didn't stop the show from being great spectacle and great participation by a good number of the guests.

Ok so you've seen this one yesterday but you cant get enough of Royalty can you--

This little lady above was about 7 and gave a great performance around the barrels and poles---
 These folk were all great--
And of course having had the privilege of driving these 2 beauties , no RTR Rodeo would be the same without Doug, the team and taking some of the Cowpokes for a ride .

So the mail wranglers sing their version of a song  and the lady wranglers below give their responses --very entertaining --- they were all great fun throughout--- You can tell a great working environment when the Owners continually manage to attract really great young people with a great attitude to life and great respect for the people they interface with and this bunch were no exception.

This was a song by all the cow pokes and everyone of them did their solo bit

This is what greeted us on the final morning as we went for breakfast, and it still looked stunning.

As did these two wonderful people , Doug & Linda Van Berkum-- getting to feel like we are going home to family when we go there

with David and Jane as well who we sadly missed on our last morning but who helped make this another special week for Lynda and Me at Rainbow Trout Ranch , Colorado.

Who knows if we will return --- I would never say never -- maybe I can pursued one or two from the family to come here especially the riding expert in the family--------- in the meantime and on behalf of Lynda & Me, thanks to all at RTR for making this another very enjoyable stay and one where we will take many more memories home to share.
