So there was this fish -- it was this big

We can never have a trip to TVR without doing some fishing and yesterday afternoon was just the start but no need for fishy stories here,

Both a good start but better was to follow for us both---

Within 5 minutes Lynda and me had a catch

Nice Catfish for me  a rival for the one I got here before

This was a blue faced flatfish -- not seen before but about a couple of pounds.
 And another
 And another

and another for Lynda

Biggest catch of the day though was to Lynda and while it may have come off the hook before I could pick it up , this fish was at least 24 inches and check out the bend in the rod--

in the shot below you can see tip of the rod at the top of the picture --just-- and it is vertical so some weight,

One last one before we called it a day -- So I have to say I think we might have done as well as Mollie or Lynsey did 2 years ago.

We chilled the rest of the afternoon until dinner and had a wonderful chicken and risotto  meal before wandering over to the ---
Dog House Saloon

Great surroundings only for them to be greatly improved by the arrival of Rita Cote - wife of recently departed Bob Cote -- the owners of Tanque Verde Ranch and we were pleased to see her in good form.

As was her friend -- I think it is Lori -- who is a great support for Rita

Just like Greece -- surrounded by women -- but really nice as always.

So that was that -- after a few beers and wines for Lynda , back up to the adobe home and wait for the birthday girls day which is today.

One last bit of excitement was Lynda seeing a 4 foot version of this trying to sneak into the pool and she got the staff to shoo this Western Groundsnake off the property -- they say it is non venomous -- glad she didn't have to find out  can you imagine in the future ---- "What did you do on your birthday" "Well I took some washing down to the launderette - oh and had a run in with a western groundsnake-- and then had breakfast - and then take the washing back---- "

Quite a story to tell -- especially to Ethan and Nathan-- How cool is their Yia Yia -- well of course I have always know that she was a really cool Lady.

Xronia Polla Lynda mou.
