Apologise for those family members not in the picture.
So here we are on New Years day finally catching up with Janet Smith , her husband Ian and almost all of the family, with a day at their recently new house in North of Sydney , in a rural area -- I think the name closest is Hornby, but don't quote me and what a perfect day it was.
A big thanks and very pleased to meet Nicci, Nathan's girlfriend and her parents--we really appreciate being picked up at the hotel.
Lynda and Janet finally got to sit together after so much time and in a way so much discussion would make you think that they only saw each other a month ago.-- still cant get Lynda to smile for the camera even after decades of trying.
Ian, you were the perfect host and did us all proud with the Bar-B-Q lunch and the walk around the property.
The property is an amazing space , and one where for sure that must be special for the family to grow together with the mixture of paddock , lawn and outback, and whatever the issues there are right now with Builders and local authorities , I am sure that together you two will get things fixed so you can really start to enjoy all it's benefits.
Lynda made particular friends with 2 of the family -- whatever anyone says she is a genius with children-- and the card tricks and the quiz were a delight to watch--still not sure if Toby won or not.
For me there was the vision of just about the cutest little lady I have seen in a while and with Josh teaching me how to use a bush rangers whip-- never seen anyone do what he can do with 2 whips at the same time-- and show us his horse---
Ok , so Ned Kelly or Drover I aint --- but I did manage to make it crack a few times without hitting myself in the face.
Really amazing to see the affinity that Josh has developed with the horse in such a short space of time and the accomplishments of the fencing and the whole learning of taking care of a horse--
The Horse Whisperer
The following are a selection of shots that we took during the day but again sorry that we didn't organise a shot of everyone there together----
A mum and 2 of her Gal's
A mum and 2 of her pals --
Thank you all for making us so welcome and I do believe that we can all bridge that gap across the world so that all of our children and in our case our grandchildren, know that there is family-- no matter how distant in terms of first second or whatever cousins-- so that the connection can be broadened in the future.
You have an amazing family and Lynda & I are blessed to have been able to meet you all yesterday and also to be a small part of it.
Amy will have to come to England to meet us.
Tanks again to Nicci & Nathan for getting us back to the hotel.
So Janet & Ian, the next time we see each other will be on the 25th early evening at a place like this ---
Hope that as we are finally friends again Janet that you will be able to read this right now, but be careful with what buttons you press.
Love to you all--- Philip & Lyndax
