End the Journey on a High

So it's the last day of this road trip today and we have to go home tomorrow--early flight, alarm is set and this time tomorrow we will be back in the apartment in Carshalton.

Actually I think we are both agreed that we are both ready to go home now -- it's always funny that---we all desperately want to get away on holiday but something changes near the end, and suddenly your head starts saying " want to finish now " --- "wish it was tomorrow"--- "wish I was back home curled up ".

It is a strange thin, because what is likely to take place is that we will get back ton Heathrow at midday tomorrow and find that it is - 3 or something and the brain will start telling you that " I wish we were back out in Dubai or Sydney" , " why the hell did we have to come back" and all those kinds of things and all I can say to that is --- Welcome back to reality.

So for a last day of visuals to go with the trip here goes with some of our day today.

Up and out early and with Faisal our guide----
So this is by the hotel so first landmark we saw--- on our way to the Dubai Museum

Then on down to the Sail, via a mosque and  one or two very expensive hotels and palaces with some vey smart cars ----

This is under construction as a new royal house--

Just one of the many expensive hotels -- the Al Qsar

And a couple of Buggattis's to play with---

The on to the Burj Al Arab---

Well it has to be done doesn't it ---cant come without seeing these fairly iconic buildings -- not just here but in the world now.
Next it was the Atlantis Hotel---

Maybe next time we will stay in this ---

Finally on to the Burj Khalifa and the Mall--

We could thoroughly bore the pants off of everyone with hundreds of photos that we took---well you can now cant you -- digital says you can just keep clicking --- but we wont do that to you but it as I said, had to be done and we are both really pleased to have managed to do this.

So just a final wander around some of the Mall but I must say that Lynda was really good--despite the temptations.

And that includes the temptations of The Cheesecake Factory----

So finally the trip comes to an end but not without me saying I think Lynda and I make a pretty good team that understands what we are all about when we go on our trips and I thank you for another amazing time I have had with you in a completely new area of the world for us both.

So I saved the best photo till last, of my beautiful wife , on top of the world---despite all of the pain in the knee you've had you still look relaxed and tanned and ready to get everything fixed and ready for our next one.

One thing I do intend to do I anyone is ever likely to be interested is to continue writing my Blog although it will not be every day but maybe once or twice a week and this will be on issues such as ----
well I don't know yet but they will be relevant -- well to me at least  :-)
