Changing Habits

I was reminded that we are up and about early today but that is from someone who has yet to get to bed when for me it is A) normal to be up before 6am when at work and B) when we eat dinner at around 7pm , then seeing the restaurants and bars closing at 9pm means that to go to bed that early is not a big deal.

The only shame from this place in Rockhampton is having no pool, but that gave me a chance to get a bit of work done and for Lynda to do a bit of shopping---well its what has to happen doesn't it--- listen fellas, if you think I've gone soft you will get to the time when you know the inevitability of that occurring so don't winge or pretend it will never happen to you because it will.

These are apartment blocks that double up as hotels and a very well appointed---except for the lack of pool.

We did however find a really great restaurant not far away and I had a brilliant steak and Lynda the best looking cheeseburger I think I have seen---

It may well be that in a couple of days these two--- who appear to have had a bit of a row, may well be served in here as well---#

So here is a shot of the room ---we will have to produce a folder with a picture of every where we stay so we can rate them better---

---- to me it looks like the one from the day before but what do I know---

so todays trip is around a 5 hour drive down the A1 and here is a map that shows here at Rockhampton and Noosa where we will be later----

So we understand that it is rather cold back in London , in fact all over the UK --- someone said - 4 , which is a bit chilly to say the least and it would be dead easy for us to sit here in the room that is already about 32 degrees C, but we wont do that because we are not that type of person. I mean how can anyone get any enjoyment from constantly reminding people in much colder parts of the world that they are just about to get into an air-conditioned car for the drive and that by 2pm they will be sitting in or by a swimming pool--- I mean to say, what enjoyment would that bring.
I think that taking that approach , while others are applying the layers principle, is kind of sick and that those people are not very nice at all.
I mean what do they get out of the constant reminder to people that they know and love , that they are somewhere that is in the late 80's / early 90's, -- it's obscene and should be banned from being allowed --- no-one should be able to rub peoples noses-- who are around the other side of the world---in the fact that here it is very hot and there it is very very very cold. This is definitely not a very British thing to do at all---ok so got that off my chest.

But lets be very clear about this , so there is no confusion later by anyone who reads this --- Lynda & I get no pleasure whatsoever from being able to say that here is going to be wonderfully hot today and back there in Europe ( but in particular the UK) it will be very cold, -- just so there is no mention of the Gloating word, or any reference to smugness, because that would not be appropriate at all.

As our friends over the pond would say - " Happy Trails"
